Project Notes

The client need

The Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute needed a campaign film and video series to inspire female high school students and school leavers to consider studying maths at university. The campaign needed to show maths as more than a school subject, positioning it as a powerful foundation for future careers, problem-solving and real-world change.

What I created

I created a short 3 minute Careers Powered by Maths campaign film, narrated by Susan James, bringing together the wider CHOOSEMATHS careers message into one clear series overview. The film connected maths to data, technology, science, engineering, business, medicine, the environment, space, aviation, coding, robotics, sport and future careers.

The approach

The project drew on the broader AMSI ambassador series, using selected moments from multiple profile films to create a single campaign story. The script was shaped as a clear, motivating message for young women considering their future study and career pathways, showing that maths can lead into many different industries rather than one narrow profession.

The edit needed to feel energetic, future-focused and easy to follow, while still carrying the scale of the campaign. By combining narration, ambassador moments and visual examples from across the series, the final film worked as a campaign overview and a gateway into the individual stories.
