Project Notes

The client need

Parliament of Victoria needed an interview-led education series to inspire young people in Victoria to identify, seek and take on leadership opportunities in their communities. The series needed to present balanced, practical advice from MPs across the political spectrum in a way that felt accessible and inviting for young viewers.

What I created

I created a six-part interview series with full-length education videos and shorter social versions in a 4x5 format. The videos explored advocacy, youth engagement, meeting preparation, gaining leadership experience, advice for young leaders and the personal leadership journeys of Victorian MPs.

The approach

The process began with close collaboration with Parliament’s Community Engagement team to identify the key topics, audience needs and desired narrative structure. I then shaped the interviews into a curated series that balanced different perspectives, practical advice and stories of advocacy, from local community action to larger state-wide projects.

The visual approach used beautifully lit cinematic interviews to help the videos feel considered, respectful and engaging for young audiences. The editing process was designed to reduce pressure on the client team: once the goals and structure were clear, I made the key story decisions and shaped each episode for review, so the team could focus on alignment, accuracy and audience fit.
