Project Notes

The client need

RMIT University needed a student recruitment video campaign to show the strength of its engineering programs, including hands-on learning, specialist facilities, student support, project work and industry connections. The campaign needed to make engineering feel practical, exciting and relevant to future students.

What I created

I created a 2m 56s hero video and three 30-second student stories featuring Claudia Valle, Jaweed Kakae and Josie Philips. The film brought together civil and infrastructure engineering, advanced manufacturing and mechatronics, and aerospace engineering to show engineering as professional problem solving across very different pathways.

The approach

The process began with long student interviews to find the strongest story points, personal motivations and practical examples. I shaped the script around the students’ own words and experiences, then built the hero film around one shared idea: engineers learn how to break down problems and turn ideas into something real.

The production was filmed across multiple high-value locations, including RMIT engineering facilities, the RMIT wind tunnel, Crusader Caravans and a Multiplex construction site. These locations helped connect classroom learning with real industry outcomes, from robotic arms and drone testing to safer manufacturing processes and structural inspections on an active high-rise site.
